Unmarked Cruciform Dish c1820.

This is a fine cruciform dish measuring about 9 inches in diameter.  It dates to c1820 and is unmarked.  It is decorated with four small sprays of colourful flowers with a plain gold rim.

This shape is usually associated with Welsh porcelain, both Swansea and Nantgarw making dishes of this shape and size.  This dish is made of white, dense porcelain but lacks the transluscency you would expect from Welsh porcelain.  It is in generally good condition but with a number of firing cracks around the rim which date to manufacture and the gold line round the rim is quite worn.

Code: B0410POV

£225.
